What to wear
Wear whatever makes you feel great. When you feel good, it shows. We also suggest taking along another outfit – just in case.
Preparation
You might want to simply come as you are, or you might want to add a little quirkiness to the shoot. For instance, if you’re having a family shoot, have a think about what makes your family what it is. So if your little girl loves to dress up, let her. If your little boy is a hurling fanatic, let him bring his hurl. These little quirks make us who we are, and make for fantastic shots.
The waiting game
Images will be ready to view one week after the shoot. Please call the studio to set up a viewing time that suits you.
Taking them home
Once viewing has been completed, and you’ve chosen your pictures, prints should be ready within two days from the date of order.
Enjoying your pics
We offer an in-house framing service. One word of advice though, if you choose to get them framed elsewhere, make a point of doing it asap. Your beautiful snaps were made to be seen and enjoyed, not left languishing in the sitting room cupboard…
For the girls
Practice your make up look several times before the day of the shoot. Aim for “natural glam.” Avoid glitter, shimmer, or products with excess sparkle or shine. Avoid powder, which tends to emphasize pores and lines on camera. A subtle application of make-up can really soften your skin and accent your facial features. Please try and match your skin tone as best you can.
Cleanse and tone face that morning and apply moisturiser prior to make up application. Make up will look better with this process.
You will probably wipe or lick your lips during your shoot, so bring fresh lip gloss or lipstick to do touch-up.
Don’t stress about a last-minute breakout. We can remove any unwanted blemishes in the retouching process.
Please adjust hair to the way you would like it to look prior to shoot.
Try and avoid getting a new haircut, highlight, or color the day before shoot just in case it’s a disaster.
Wash hair the night before shoot as styling works better with this approach.
Avoid trying a new product on your hair, face, or body during the week before the shoot just in case you’re allergic.
Consider having your eyebrows professionally shaped about a week before the shoot.
Dry skin can really detract from a great photo shoot. Start using a body moisturizer nightly a week in advance of your shoot. Focus on your arms, shoulders, neck, face, hands, anywhere that will be exposed to the camera. This includes your legs if you’re shooting in shorts, dress or a skirt. Also, be sure to use a facial moisturizer on your face, not a thick body moisturizer, or you could break out. Please do a test patch on a hidden part of your skin if using a new product and wait 24-48 hours to see if you had an allegoric reaction to it.
Exfoliate skin 24 hours prior to shoot. If you haven’t exfoliated before, please do a test on skin first to avoid overall reaction.
A fresh coat of nail polish will make a world of difference in your photo shoot. Pick a neutral color but if this is not your thing, please make sure your nails look tidy and clean. Please remove old chipped nail varnish from both hands and feet.
Please Wax/ Shave / Pluck 24 hours prior to shoot to avoid redness of skin.
If applying fake tan, please do it evenly as blotchy tan looks nasty.
If friends and family wouldn’t recognize you without glasses, you should wear them during your shoot . However, the glare on glass can detract from your eyes especially if they don’t have glare reduction included on the lens. You can try and remove lenses from old pair of frames and use those frames for the shoot or buy a suitable pair of frames as a new treat.
If you wear jewellery be aware of it twisting or turning.
