Your brand’s image is more than just a logo — it’s a living story, and you need to catch people’s attention quickly and keep it. For businesses and entrepreneurs, branding photography is a powerful means of communicating authenticity, professionalism, and personality. While studio shots offer control and consistency, stepping outside can unlock a deeper, more relatable connection with your audience. Outdoor branding sessions strike a balance between professionalism and approachability, offering visual storytelling that feels grounded, human, and memorable. There are many benefits to outdoor branding photography:
Benefits of Outdoor Branding Photography
Creates a Relatable, Human-Centred Brand Image
People connect with people. Outdoor settings — such as parks, cafés, city streets, and even murals — make businesses appear more approachable and less corporate. This adds a human touch to your brand, especially valuable for service-based professionals, creatives, and entrepreneurs.

Natural Light = Authentic Visuals
Natural lighting helps avoid the sometimes sterile look of artificial setups. It provides soft, flattering highlights that feel modern and organic — ideal for lifestyle-focused brands or professionals looking to build trust.
Versatile Backdrops That Reflect Brand Personality
From modern urban architecture to natural landscapes, outdoor environments allow brands to select backgrounds that align with their voice and values. A tech startup might opt for a sleek downtown building, while a wellness coach might prefer a serene natural light setting, such as a forest or beach.
Encourages Movement and Candid Interaction
Outdoor shoots break the rigid mould of traditional portraits. Walking, talking, or working in real-world settings yields dynamic, candid images — ideal for social media, websites, and marketing materials that aim to convey a genuine rather than staged feel.
Seasonal and Local Relevance
Outdoor branding sessions can leverage the vibe of a season or a local landmark, giving the business a strong sense of place. This is especially effective for small businesses, personal brands, and location-based services trying to connect with local audiences.
Some of Our Favourite Locations
The Hanging Gardens
The Gardens International is an iconic office development that reimagines one of Limerick’s most historic and innovative buildings for the 21st century. ‘Hanging Gardens’ was a breathtaking set of tiered gardens between O’Connell Street and Henry Street, and while the gardens themselves are gone, the building reimagines the concept. The bright, spacious areas are ideal for professional photography, and as a venue that caters to other professionals, you will have the freedom to take photos without interruption.

Dunraven Arms
The Dunraven is a stylish, luxury, family-run hotel situated in the heart of Adare, Limerick. Its gardens, bright entrance, and bar are a stunning setting for photos. They value bright light streaming through, with plants dotted around the hotel, and furniture in muted, neutral colours to help you stand out amidst it.

Brightly Lit Office
A well-lit corridor or office room can make all the difference for a shoot. It doesn’t have to be fancy; just a place with good lighting and space to take photographs. If you have a well-decorated office and would like to utilise it as an additional marketing tool, featuring it in your photos can make people feel like they know the business better and feel more comfortable visiting you.

Krups Building
The former Krups factory in Limerick (pictured in the main image) is now the site of the Limerick Enterprise Development Partnership (LEDP), a charitable organisation focused on job creation, training, and community development. The LEDP building features spacious, well-lit areas that are ideal for photography. They look professional and smart.

Limerick City Streets
Sometimes, taking the camera to the streets is the best type of photoshoot! You have numerous options for settings, allowing you to choose between a quiet area and a busy one. Shauna can advise you in advance and on the day on what is best and how to achieve the type of look and feel you want to convey in your branding photographs.
Ballintyne Mill
Bannatyne Mill is a historic Victorian mill situated on the Limerick Docklands site, dating back to 1873. The Bannatyne Mill is technically significant because its frame is made of cast iron and is encased in cut stone and rubble. It is a fantastic place for businesses seeking that edge in their branding, something that makes them stand out from the rest. As a photographer, it’s a particularly interesting place to shoot, as it’s spacious and fun to play with.
